Photos of Our Friends

The first photo is of Betsey Blue-Eye, our Aussie Shepherd/Border Collie mix and the second of Boris McBanger, our Lab/Am. Pit mix. Betsey is sporting her "summer look" since her fur is usually about 5-6 inches long. Since we live in Florida, she suffers when the heat gets high if we don't keep her fur cut down. With it cut short, she has plenty of energy to indulge in her favorite pastime: herding Boris. This he takes with his usual good humor and a bit of resignation.

Hi everybody!

My name is Schatzie and I am a one year old Dachshund.  I love all kinds of parties and I am a true party animal.  At my mistress's last party, I had a special petcare-person carry me around in her arms all night, and she was beautiful in her flowing chiffon dress.  But I was handsome too in a black sweater and bow tie and I really showed off by stretching my neck to its fullest and acting non-challant.  When the piano player did a Frank Sinatra number I really let loose and howled right along to thunderous applause from the audience.

In the daytime I like to ride a bike with my mistress and I love the upholstered basket I get to sit in.  And I love to ride in the new Mercedes, but I am still looking for a nice seat made especially for me.  I want to be a good boy and not distract my mistress while she is driving.  Oh yeah, I also like to chase all the beautiful white birds that are grazing around our lake, but I don't like the pool and run away if I think my lady wants to put me in the water.

Now before I say goodbye to everybody, I want to know if there is some really good food out there for me.  Hope I don't have to go all the way to Germany to get a Wiener Schnitzel.  Love to all,
                                            from Schatzie von Dachsie!

Enclosed are pictures of four wonderful animals that brought enormous amounts of love and joy to our lives. "Sheba", November 3, 1988 - July14, 1998. She was there for me through thick and thin and my best friend without a doubt and brought joy to many lives besides my own.

"Bob", a 2 1/2 year old Beagle that we only got to have in our lives for a very brief time but nonetheless a joyful time.

"Diesel", March 29,1999 - March 2, 2000, our 11 month old Black Lab tragically taken from us way too soon.

"Bailey", our 14 month old Beagle who loves to run and chase deer, rabbits, birds, etc., etc., etc., then cuddle up for a good night's sleep.

Hi. My name is Zsazsa, and I'm a 4 months old toy poodle, my mammy got me from a very well known breeder in Las Vegas. Since she bought me home with her, I'm the happiest dog in the world because I go everywhere with her. I go shopping, to the park, to the pool, to the spa, and everywhere because she teaches me very good manners.  I'm a very sophisticate, classy, elegant and proper poodle.

This is Callie McCalabash. She is a Cairn Terrier and is Dudley McTavish's little sister. Callie is a spunky affectionate yet hardy li'l thing. She thinks she is a Great Dane, and no dog is too big for her to go up to and wrestle.

This is Maysha.  She gets her name from two other females that I had -- Maybelline and Sasha.  I used the beginning and the end of their names because I thought it was cute. She is 4 months and 1 week old, and she has a little of the devil in her.  She loves people, especially men. She loves going into a near by pet store and doing
her own shopping.  She picks out her new toy and a biscuit and brings them to the counter. Of
course I get stuck paying the bill.

This Is Dudley McTavish. He is a 8 month old Beagle and a lot of fun (and trouble). He likes to sit on your lap no matter how big he is and how small you are, and he is a really happy puppy, as you can see from his smile! Actually, he was eating a piece of lavender, but I edited it out! But he does smile! And soon as he is an angel, he has a halo (actually, its my t shirt).

Alzie's Car Seat

Alzie is a Jack Russell terrier 4 months old. Her full name is Alzie-a pill for Virginia Blied. Virginia has Alzheimers and when our cat died, I was advised to immediately get another pet. Alzie came to our home and is a joy to the both of us. She just completed Puppy Class provided by the Greater Naples Dog Club. The car seat is a child's safety seat adapted to secure Alzie, (Never leave a Jack Russell untethered out of doors).

Nittany

Nittany

Nittany is a Yellow Labrador Retriever. She was born in Pennsylvania on 12/23/96. We had contemplated the responsibilities of owning a dog and had almost decided against it when we met Nittany. Things have not been the same since and we couldn't be happier. We had to make a few minor changes like making sure the bathroom is shut while showering in order to avoid an uninvited guest. We solved the problem in the summer by providing her with her own baby pool. Nittany is very intelligent and a quick learner. I swear, she knows exactly what I am saying even when it is not coded with dog commands. After observing how to use the ice dispenser in the fridge door, Nittany took it upon herself to get her own ice cubes by pushing the button with her nose. The only regret we have had with our choice is her huge vet bills, but she is worth every penny.

Xena

Attached is a photo of Xena, a dog we adopted from the shelter, when she was about 5 weeks old. She had been found next to a highway, so she has an unknown heritage.(She looks like a Canaan Dog) The two years my husband and I have had Xena with us, have been very happy ones!

Dogzilla

Enclosed is a picture of a previously abandoned, 2-yr old German Shorthair Pointer that my wife and I adopted from a "kill" Kentucky shelter as members of German Shorthair Rescue. We love "Dani" very much and she goes everywhere with us. We are leaving tomorrow for a one-week vacation in Maine and will introduce Dani to the beach. She is very active, has quite a bit of puppy still in her and this picture prompted the nickname Dogzilla. She possessively guards her yard space and wants to catch every squirrel and bird in our neighborhood. Dani is quite affectionate, loves everyone but is very jealous when my wife hugs me! Her favorite activities are walking the public trails with us, napping on our water bed, and watching animals on TV! She is beautiful and we are so lucky she came into our lives. She is our baby.

Say "Bonjour" to Captain Cappuccino the Wonder Pup. Cappy was the "runt" of his litter (of two) and was not expected to live but he obviously did. I am often told that I don't look like a "poodle person" (I don't) but I sure am a Cappy person. He is the love of my life (OK, one of them) and has the most amazing disposition. He spent two years of his live with two 100+ pound Malamutes and acts like he's one, too. Of course he's only eight pounds (without a haircut.)

torey.jpg (3370 bytes) I am enclosing a picture of Torey Adore of Acme-Windgap, a beautiful 3.5 year old salt and pepper miniature schnauzer. She is the love of my life! Torey just recently had her second litter on April 24, 1998. She had two boys and three girls. One of the girls will be staying behind and taking up residence with Torey and me. Her name is Windgap Torey's Becca Secunda or Becca (for short). Becca's two brothers and sisters have already found great and loving homes and will be going to their new owners in a few short weeks.

This is my Chinese Sharpei "Disaster" but we all call her Asta. If she wore pants...she would be the one to wear them in our family. She's always featured on our "Family Xmas Card" with her named prominently listed while my two kids have been delegated as "and family"! Pets tend to take over, and this one is no exception. I have a z-28 camaro convertible with cutomized interior for the dog including dog-seat belt covered in matching material, we
budget $100 per month for food, toys, etc. and I even designed the business where I work's entry in our local parade with a dog theme so she could ride along as main attraction. My children are grown and have abandoned ship...but my husband (although he may not admit it) is just as far gone as I am!

Lendi.jpg (8957 bytes) This is my "granddog" Lendi. She was born in Kansas, lived in Missouri, is a "French" bulldog by birth.....so what the heck is she doing in California? We purchase her for my daughter for Xmas and we all have become won over by her strange little ways. No one could resist her Elfin little ways...except maybe my dog who is twice her size, loves to follow and play with her and wears the scars for Lendi's littles nips that come when you least expect them. Lendi loves to lick and sniff her, them take a chunk and run under the couch where my dog won't fit..It must be love because...the big one never even threatens to retaliate! Lendi has reloacted "too many miles" away! We all miss her snorting,licking,jumping,etc..you have to laugh when she's around....Sometime's I just sit and wonder....What the federal laws are concerning abducting you "granddog" and taking her across state lines! Here she is in my computer room aka "jungle room" and this is where she belongs! Come home to grandma....Lendi!

Meso Photo MeSo is our new 6 week-old puppy. We adopted him from a local animal shelter where he, a brother, and a sister were abandoned. When we first saw him, he had that "Please Take Me Home" look in his eyes--and we did! Prior to MeSo, we had an 18 year-old dog named "Keisha" and a 17 year old cat named "Hercules". Both of these pets recently died, and within six weeks of each other. They too, were abandoned 18 years ago. We don't see MeSo as a replacement for Keisha, but as an extension of her life. She would have wanted us to love and care for another dog, just as we loved and cared for her for 18 years. When Keisha was put to sleep just a few weeks ago--she had breast cancer. Our last words to her were "Keisha, now you can go chase the kitty Hercules". MeSo will be loved and cared for, hopefully for another 18 years+.

Lola LaShain

Lola was adopted from an local animal shelter on July 24 1999. She is 1year old, and  is part beagle and part German Shepard. She whines when she is left alone. She is the greatest dog I ever owned.
